How QuikCard handles scanned QR codes, locally stored cards, My QuikCard information, camera access, managed promotional cards, network communication and related app data.

Effective: August 29, 2026

At a glance

Local-first QR storage, with network access only where a feature needs it.

This policy supplements the COMLUK Solutions Privacy Policy and explains the additional information-handling practices that arise when using QuikCard.

Ordinary QR codes and saved card information are primarily stored on the user's device. QuikCard uses the camera to scan QR codes and may contact COMLUK services when a supported managed card needs to be resolved, refreshed, validated or opened.

QuikCard is designed to keep ordinary saved QR data local while clearly separating optional network-connected features.

This QuikCard Privacy Policy supplements the COMLUK Solutions Privacy Policy and applies specifically to the QuikCard application and related QuikCard services.

QuikCard is a QR code wallet. It allows users to scan QR codes, save them as organized cards on the device, create a personal My QuikCard, and use supported COMLUK-managed cards that may retrieve current information from COMLUK services.

The COMLUK Solutions Privacy Policy remains the company-wide privacy framework.

01

About This Policy

This policy explains how information is handled when QuikCard scans, stores, displays, refreshes or opens QR-based cards.

QuikCard is designed as a local-first application. Most ordinary card data is stored on the user's device rather than being uploaded to a centralized QuikCard account.

Some features require network communication. In particular, COMLUK-managed promotional cards may contact COMLUK services to determine their current status, retrieve approved campaign information, refresh artwork, validate an open request and return the current destination.

02

Information QuikCard Stores

Depending on how the app is used, QuikCard may store the following information locally on the device:

  • Saved QR code content
  • User-assigned card names or labels
  • Card type and related card metadata
  • Dates or status information associated with saved cards
  • Information entered by the user for My QuikCard
  • App settings and preferences, such as appearance or theme choices
  • Managed-card metadata returned by COMLUK services
  • Locally cached artwork or other assets used by supported managed cards

Ordinary saved QR code data is not intentionally uploaded to COMLUK merely because the user saves it in QuikCard.

03

Camera Permission

QuikCard requests access to the device camera so the user can scan QR codes.

Camera input is used for QR-code recognition. QuikCard does not require the user to create a camera account or provide camera footage to COMLUK in order to scan an ordinary QR code.

Images or video streams viewed through the scanner are not intentionally stored by COMLUK as part of the normal scanning process.

04

Ordinary QR Code Handling

When an ordinary QR code is scanned, QuikCard processes the QR content so the user can review, name and save it.

When the user chooses to save the code, the saved information is stored locally on the device. The user can later bring the saved QR code back up, present it, share it or open the destination associated with it.

QuikCard does not operate a centralized cloud library of every ordinary QR code saved by users.

05

My QuikCard

My QuikCard allows a user to enter contact information and present it through a personal QR card.

Information entered for My QuikCard is stored locally by the app unless a future feature or service clearly states otherwise.

When a user chooses to display or share My QuikCard, the information encoded in that QR code is intended to be read by the person or device scanning it. Users should include only information they are comfortable sharing with the intended recipient.

06

COMLUK-Managed Cards and Promotions

QuikCard can recognize supported COMLUK-managed QR codes. These cards may represent promotions, campaigns or other managed content whose current meaning is controlled by a COMLUK registry.

When QuikCard recognizes a supported managed QR code, the app may send the card's COMLUK identifier to a COMLUK service. The service may return information such as:

  • Card or campaign title
  • Approved descriptive information
  • Current status
  • Start or expiry information where applicable
  • Current destination
  • Call-to-action information
  • Artwork location and artwork version

QuikCard may cache returned managed-card information and artwork locally so the card can be displayed efficiently.

Managed cards may be refreshed when the app starts or returns to the foreground so that changes such as activation, expiry, suspension, renewal or updated artwork can be reflected in the wallet.

An expired or inactive managed card may remain stored locally rather than being automatically deleted, including where the same managed card may later become active again. The user may remove saved cards through the app's available controls.

07

Managed Card Opens and Event Logging

When a user chooses to open an active COMLUK-managed card, QuikCard may contact a COMLUK service to confirm that the card remains active and to obtain its current approved destination.

A validated managed-card open may be recorded by COMLUK as a first-party service or campaign event. Event information may include the relevant managed-card identifier, date and time, and the fact that the access came through QuikCard.

Routine background status refreshes are not intended to be counted as promotional visits.

Normal internet infrastructure and hosting providers may also process technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, request time, security logs or similar connection data when network requests are made. Such processing may also be governed by the COMLUK Solutions Privacy Policy and the policies of the applicable infrastructure provider.

08

External Links and Destinations

Many QR codes lead to websites, profiles, forms, documents, payment pages, social platforms or other external services.

When the user opens an external destination from QuikCard, the external provider's own privacy policy, terms and data practices apply. COMLUK does not control the data handling, security, availability or content of unrelated third-party destinations.

Saving a QR code in QuikCard does not make COMLUK the operator of the destination encoded in that QR code.

09

Analytics, Advertising and Tracking

QuikCard does not require a QuikCard user account in order to save ordinary QR codes.

QuikCard is not designed around third-party advertising, sale of personal information or third-party behavioral advertising trackers.

COMLUK may use first-party operational logs and managed-card event records where reasonably necessary to operate, secure, maintain or measure COMLUK-managed services. This is distinct from uploading a user's ordinary saved QR-code collection for advertising or profiling.

10

Sharing and Disclosure

COMLUK does not sell or rent a user's ordinary saved QR-code collection or My QuikCard information.

Information may be processed or disclosed where reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide a network-connected QuikCard feature requested by the user
  • Operate hosting, infrastructure or managed-card services
  • Maintain security or prevent abuse
  • Investigate technical problems
  • Protect COMLUK, users or the public
  • Comply with legal obligations or lawful requests
  • Enforce applicable terms or policies

Only information reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose should be used or shared.

11

Data Retention and Deletion

Locally saved cards and app preferences generally remain on the device until they are removed by the user, cleared through device or app controls, or removed when the application or its stored data is deleted.

Managed-card artwork and metadata may be refreshed, replaced or removed as the related card changes state.

COMLUK may retain limited server-side managed-card, operational, security or event records for as long as reasonably necessary for service operation, reporting, security, dispute handling, legal compliance or legitimate business record-keeping, subject to the COMLUK Solutions Privacy Policy.

12

Security

QuikCard is designed to keep ordinary saved QR data primarily on the user's device and uses reasonable technical measures appropriate to the service.

Local information is also dependent on the security of the user's device, operating system, backups and device-access controls. Users should protect their devices with appropriate security settings.

No device, application, network connection or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13

User Choices and Control

Users control which QR codes they choose to scan and save and which information they choose to enter into My QuikCard.

Users can remove saved cards through the controls provided by the app. Camera permission can be managed through the device's operating-system settings, although disabling camera access will prevent normal QR scanning.

Questions about COMLUK-held information, managed-card records or privacy practices may be submitted through the COMLUK Solutions Contact page.

14

Children's Privacy

QuikCard does not require users to create a QuikCard account and is not designed to solicit personal information from children for advertising or profiling.

Where QuikCard is used by a child or young person, an appropriate adult should help determine what personal information, if any, is entered into My QuikCard or intentionally shared through a QR code.

15

Changes to This Policy

COMLUK may update this Privacy Policy as QuikCard, its technology, legal requirements or business practices change.

The current version will be published on the COMLUK Solutions website with its effective date. Material changes may be communicated through the app, website or other appropriate channels where reasonably necessary.

16

Contact Information

Questions, privacy concerns, correction requests or complaints may be submitted through the COMLUK Solutions Contact page.

Do not send passwords, payment-card information, one-time codes or other security credentials in an ordinary privacy enquiry.

17

Companion Documents

This product-specific Privacy Policy supplements the COMLUK Solutions Privacy Policy and may be read together with:

  • COMLUK Solutions Privacy Policy
  • COMLUK Solutions Terms of Service
  • Any QuikCard download, installation or release notices published by COMLUK
  • Any additional notice presented for a specific QuikCard feature or managed service

Where a more specific notice applies to a particular QuikCard feature, that notice applies to the information handled through that feature. The COMLUK Solutions Privacy Policy continues to govern the company-wide relationship.

Return to QuikCard

QuikCard keeps ordinary saved QR codes local by default. Network communication is used where a connected feature needs current information, validation or an external destination.
